Foot throttles?

Anyone use one of the Red Rock Dowden foot feeds for a 9N? I've always thought it would be easier to use the tractor with a foot throttle. Pros and/or cons to these?

I have a factory original (same as the Dowden clone) on my 1951 8N with a Woods belly mower. I find it handy for giving a little more gas in heavier grass -- when I remember to use it. If it wasn't there, I'd be fine with the hand throttle.

I have one of Redrocks foot throttles on my 8N and love it.

Pretty easy to install. Doesn't change your hand throttle at all. The Redrock parts just add on to it for the foot throttle.

You can just completely use the foot throttle or set your hand throttle at any speed and then use the foot throttle to advance higher than the hand throttle setting.

Experience has demonstrated to me that one will not be without a foot throttle once having had one.

Almost everything I do is at WOT, I thought a foot throttle could be handy but I keep it on the governor most of the time.

I've had my 8N for ten years but after getting my MF202 4 or 5 months ago, I decided I also had to have a foot throttle on the 8N.

The 9N/2N has a different set-up than the 8N and looks awkward to operate JMO..

I put one on my 8N and would not be without it. It is great when plowing snow. I also use it discing and cultivating. I find that it helps when trying to lift/drop the implement, turn, and slow down. I ran out
of hands. Other times i just use the throttle.

Here's another upvote for a foot throttle.
For mowing and the like I use the hand
throttle but for back and forth jobs like a
back blade it's invaluable. Mine will also
give me about 150 rpms more than the hand
throttle will. Full tilt boogie plus a
little more going back to the house at the
end of the day and you know there's a cold
one in the fridge.
