The adjuster slots are on the backing plates.

Adjust them like you would any other drum brakes.

Yep, you have to grab a screwdriver and pry off the little rubber access hole cover on the back of each rear wheel hub, if they are still plugged in, to get to the adjuster sprocket wheel. SEE PICTURE of brake parts with the drum removed:

Take heed that you only have so much adjusting and if pads are worn bad enough, you will have to do a complete brake job. The N's are notorious for rear seals to leak and once that happens the oil gets on the brake pads and will cause premature wear. If pads are not worn, sometimes they can be washed off in mineral spirits, gasoline, or kerosene and reused once dried thoroughly. If'N ya gotta do a complete brake job, I'd also inspect them for signs of oil leakage, and do the oil seals then if needed as well otherwise you will be tearing it all apart again next month anyway.
