8n 6v pos grd wiring

I have a 6v pos ground 1951 8n.

I ordered a wiring harness. And got it wired up ok by looking at the diagram. My question is this: on the generator, does the big wire go on the end or on the grd term on the generator. Because the only stud on the gen that the big wire will fit is one of the top term. It will not fit on the end term. I thought the bigger wire would go on the end but the connector is too small to go over stud.

This may be a stupid question, but I just want it wired correctly. Thanks for the help

ig wire generally on the end, but who knows what aftermarket harness you have. Trace it back to the regulator. Armature terminal on VR connected to Arm (end of generator) of generator.

(quoted from post at 18:20:28 08/10/17) It's a tractor I am restoring so it's all new wiring. I'm wondering if they
just put wrong connector on the wrong wire
o need to wonder...just trace it.

What I mean is that I know where each wire should go. Just need to
to know if I should use the big wire ( there are three in the harness
that go to gen. Two small. One big)to go on the end of gen.

LISTEN UP! It does not matter if you think you wiring harness is correctly colored, unless it was purchased as an exact-as-original with cloth covered wires, it does not mean a thing what the dang colors are now. Do you have the I&T F-04 manual? An 8N Operator's Manual, A MPC? All will have the correct wiring diagrams, even color codes if you need them. What JMOR is saying and everyone else too is forget the colors and trace the wires to ensure they are going from the correct point A to point B. You want them to be correct don't you? Electrons are color blind, letting the smoke out is a one-time deal.

he ARM wire is the heavier gauge wire due to current capacity, regardless of terminal hole size.
