Intake manifold grease fitting

(quoted from post at 10:36:20 08/10/17) What is the grease fitting on the side of the intake manifold on the 8N grease?
HAT?! Better show us a picture of that critter.

A little known fact is that adding grease to the intake would increase performance; greasy fuel flows quicker. ;)

Seriously.......it was a vacuum port for a milk machine. Someone probably just put a fitting there instead of a pipe plug.

I'm not sure if you can see this. I'm at work and not next to the tractor or I would take a better pic.

Lake County,It is a vacuum port for a milk machine. Someone put a grease fitting there instead of a pipe plug.It takes a 1/8"NPT thread plug.

There should be no grease fitting on the intake manifold. The port should have a plug in it.

I think the tap was for diagnostics then was adapted for other uses. I doubt it was there intentionally to milk a cow...

I can see the value in the tap but it taint to milk a damm cow...

When I was growing up in the 1950s-early 60s, it was fairly common to use the Farmall H to provide vacuum to run the Surge milkers when the
power was out.

Invocation lead to other uses like controlling shift points on a automatic transmission, assist for power brakes, distributor timing control, HVAC delivery, operating headlights, are anywhere vacuum could be used BUT its intended purpose was for engine diagnostics...

Human adaptations for survival led to other uses....

I drilled and tapped a hole in the manifold of my 960 puller specifically for the use of a vacuum gauge for diagnostics. My 961 had a hole in the manifold with a milking machine air line valve brazed into it.

For some reason, you milk machine got me and I think its your best one yet!

IfN I Needed to milk some cows your milk machine would do the job.
