stuck rings & MMO

8N had no compression (0-0-5-30). It would blow my thumb off the spark plug hole, but that was all the would show on the gage.
Pulled the head & checked w/straight edge - looked good. Head gasket was black on both sides, didn't look blown. Poured Kroil on top of the valves, and it seemed to hold it for quite a while. Talked to the guy at the machine shop and he said it was stuck rings. Said to pour MMO on op of the pistons for a few days. I did that & it will take a few minutes or the oil to seep through. If the rings are not stuck, would it hold the oil? How long? Valve timing looks okay watching them operate with the pistons. How can I tell if it's off?

Find the point where #4 (steering wheel) is at top dead center (both intake & exhaust will be slightly open) & as you turn crank very little in either direction the intake & exhaust will alternately close & open/open & close. Called "on the rock" by many. At this point #1 (at radiator) will be at TDC-compression stroke & firing.
