Here they are. I really think it could have been much worse,except for the oil and grease,mostly it's just the top of the motor and messing up the radiator,man o man that radiator neck shot 20 feet in the air and past the mower deck

Please share more information on this fire. What was the cause? How was it put out?

Sorry for the loss.
 
If those tires were on it in the fire then I don't think it's a
lost cause.I'd start ripping it apart and getting new or used
parts. As Royse sez just buff it out.

I think I'd replace the coil. LOL
The tractor I'd try to save though.
There are lots of little things that get burned.
Gaskets on the valve covers and oil pan for example.
Seals in the steering gear, all the wiring of course.
Possibly the water pump. Belts, hoses, gauges, etc.
It's a stinky job, but very rewarding once finished.

Replace this and that and I bet you'll have it running in no time.
If it was mine, I'd blow off all the loose burn debris, fix what needs fixing........and leave it be.
Your tractor looks good...the burnt just adds more character :)
 
I was at a tractor salvage yard the other day looking for a part. Was amazed at how many burned out tractors there were in the yard. :shock:
 
im going with a wire shorting out and a poorly fitting (not much of a seal) engine running hot causing fuel vapors to escape, flames seemed to only lick out from under hood at first until other wires caught fire,I whipped off my shirt to beat on it but the flames only went to the other side. I had to run 300yards to get fire extinguisher's (lawnmower on way back!) then called rural fire department,truck and hose put it out,as my pet ok melted loosing about 8 gallons of fuel
