Carb Insulator Block

Had to widen the spacing of the studs for another intake manifold I'm going to use, and even though I was squeesing the block in a vise several times, my epoxy repair job of 20 years ago didn't come apart.

I was ready for another go-round at repair but won't have to.
THIS is why I stick with LocWeld and wonder why everyone stubbornly sticks with JB.

This insulator block was really broken up when I fixed it cause I don't have another.

JB is very low on the totem pole as far as I am concerned... I like Permatex cold weld are anything other than JB

Hobo,

Glad to hear it!
Permatex . . . now there's another good industrial innovator.
Went thru a few tubes of #2.

But speaking of Permatex . . .
I used to have a giant GOJO dispenser and really liked the stuff.
I didn't like DL hand cleaner though cause the distillates or whatever seemed as hard on my skin as grease, oil and solvents
I was trying to get out of my skin.

Anyway . . . one day, 35 years ago I go in to get more GoJo and the formula had changed so that it now had that same toxic bite as DL. So I asked the parts guy if he had any old tubs of Gojo before the "new improved" version came out. He did and brought me out a whack of small tubs. When I got home I emptied them into my big dispenser.

Fast forward to last saturday . . .
I bring home a tub of Permatex hand cleaner
but in the store without my glasses on I didn't see the very small DL on the label. I had totally forgotten that DL was made by Permatex. :D
