Failing Hydraulic Pump

Hello friends. I need help with my 1943 2N hydraulic system. I have blown valve chamber gaskets now three times. Have installed them dry and with two different types of gasket compound. They last a few hours then give it up. I checked the flatness of the matting surfaces with a straight edge and feeler gage and all seems well. Am not able to check for excessive pressure owing to a broken gage access point but I have never heard of these pumps failing because of excessive pressure. In any case the failures have occurred with at least two different pump relief valves. Is anyone out there using some special gasket adhesive? What am I doing wrong?

What torque are you using on the mounting bolts?

I don't know what it is but do know you have to be careful not to pull the threads out of the aluminum pump housing.

Thanks Zane.
Aluminum pump housing?? Looks and feels like cast iron to me.
Regarding torque, I confess that i assembled it with the torque wench securely nested in the tool box. I don't see a torque specification in FO-4. What should it be?
What sort of gasket compound, if any, are folks using on those valve chamber gaskets?
