I have a question that I hope someone may be able to answer.
I have a 1948 8N with front mount distributor. Out mowing, the tractor blew the top radiator hose. All of that hot coolant blasted down onto my coil, and into my distributor. I changed the hose, replaced head gasket (it had been bad before this) changed water pump, points, condenser, rotor cap, dist cap, new plugs and wires. Once I cranked it back up, it seemed to run fine, until it reached operating temp, it started to cut out, and even died. After sitting for a few minutes, it started again. Here is my question...could the coolant have damaged the coil? I did not change it when I changed everything else. Could that hot coolant have caused damage to the coil? Amy help would be appreciated.
