9n what is correct carburetor?

I'm working on a 9n. Accordingly to serial # it is z
47. It had no carburetor. Anyone have info on what
would be original? Or suggest what would be best
for it? I'm upgrading to 12v so original carb may not
be that important.
Thanks.

ms tsx 33 or tsx 241 will work just fine.
A 47 would be a 2N, not a 9n, by the way.

yes, that's a 2N. ford did not change the serial number prefix when the 2N came out. they only changed the prefix with the introduction of the 8N.

Is Z 47 the carb s/n or tractor? Z is the Ferguson Continental engine designation prefix. The original Ford N-Series carburetor is the Marvel-Schebler TSX-33 unit, used from 39 thru 1949 then changed to the M/S TSX-241 carb. Wrong assumption that say your carb isn't important. It doesn't matter if 6 volt or 12 volt, fuel is one of the three required functions to a correct running system. Spark and compression are the others. Also, I would not say switching to a 12 volt convulsion is an 'upgrade'. Why do you think that? Starting/non-running issues now? If so, using a root cause problem solving method works for any problem in any situation. You start with the basics -fuel system, electric system, then engine system. 99% of problems are usually fuel or spark related. Many fellas, especially newbies, think that converting to a 12 volt system is the answer. Tossing all new parts into the mix without first determining the root cause is just plain unwise. Carbs and distributors can be rebuilt. Fuel flow to carb can be checked. Wiring is an all important often overlooked culprit. So download Bruce(VA)'s 75 Tips and begin to troubleshoot before buying any new parts or switching anything out. You may surprise yourself...

and yet, despite your disdain, no one manufactures new 6 volt vehicles. apparently, vehicle manufacturers don't agree with u.

TSX-33 would most likely be the original. I didn't look up the serial number.
As said, a TSX-241 would work fine too.
IMO your best bet would be to find an original, not an aftermarket.
If you want an original that is already rebuilt and tested, my email is open via YT.
