Sector Shaft seals for 8N

I just received two parts orders from Yesterday's Tractors and all is right except the felt Sector Shaft seals. They sent 2 felt "Brake Seals". The brake seals are much smaller in the inside dimension ( 15/16") and the section from the inside diameter to the outside diameter is over twice as wide as it should be. They say its a one size fits all deal. do you just force the on the shaft and pack them in?

I just pulled apart a few 4 bolt steering boxes that had a rubber and felt seal . The felt is no longer used to seal the oil as the original seals did , just a seal . I do not have the # in front of me but the $2 seals for the newer shafts work just as well as the $7 they sell under the original part number .

There is still a felt disk with an id the same as the od of the sector and it sandwiches between the housing and the arm to keep out dust . If I remember correctly the shafts are 1.125" ?

Same felt on my 3000 and I needed a few on each side to be thick enough to fill the gap .
