I was up in the woods in the back of my property spraying when my 8n started sputtering, could barely keep it running. Check the gas, 1/2 full. Limped on back to the house and made in to the lawn when it died. Got the 2n and hooked up a strap to pull it back to the barn. My wife usually sits in the tractor seat and does the steering but she was busy with work so I tried to pull myself a little bit at a time. After almost hitting the pool with the tractor I figured I better put together a drawbar for when my wife is not available to do the steering and cause I'm always moving tractors around anyway. I built this using an 11 hole drawbar and some scrap stuff I had laying around. It can also be turn around used to move dead tractors from the rear.
BTW it was as I thought cheapo points. The piece that rides on the dizzy that opens the point gap is made of cheap material and after about 6 to 8 months of use wears down and closes the gap. I have NOS ford points I got from a closed dealership for replacement.

I saw your picture yesterday of your tow bar. Photobucket is pulling everyone's pictures off several forums. It's a sad thing as it affects pictures in saved old posts.

My Dad graded and seeded new lawns for a living. Often we would have to move some short distances so we made tow bars out of the original two piece center links. We welded 3/4 " pins to the bumper and sprung the tow bar onto the pins. Secured with lynch pins. We would tie the steering wheel loosely to the seat and it would tow well at low speeds.

I use Foto Time for my picture host.
