finally got the broken up pieces of aluminum trim back on. Had to reuse some of the old rivet holes and used it to line up piece by piece. I had to mess them up a bit to get them off, but I'm glad I could still make them work.
I used aluminum rivet backup washers which helped and they make it easy to remove rivets in the future with a zip disk.
Good enough for government work.
There was this mysterious hole right where the seat bottom rests that looked like it was calling for a rubber, height adjuster/bumper.
So I found this in my gallon of rubber bits with an impregnated 1/4" bolt . . . so I installed it and brazed a shallow nut up top.
-wet rags keeping the rubber cool.
I zip cut that rubber bumper in half already, but I might zip it in half again. A little changes a lot of seat tilT. The way it is now it makes me sit up straight.
