Working on the neighbors 8n. It lifts very slowly under load, ok empty. Have put the right oil in, changed the relief valve, cylinder has a very small leak (a drop every 3 sec), etc. The thing I notice is a steady leak from under the front plug on the left valve chamber when you go to lift the arms. It doesn't leak there otherwise. Do I have a intake/exhaust valve problem or a bad valve chamber cover? Its not the gasket. Right side has no leaks in this area in either position, up or down.

Most likely yes. Or possibly a cracked pump. Drain and inspect time.

Likely a crack in the valve chamber
casting.
