Her's the way i do it

lightly pound out the dents, if rusted i kill the rust with a Plasticote rust converter, then bondo up and spot putty any imperfections. Then two coats of sandable primer and spray the FORD logo area with Red paint. Let dry for a few days then get out the Desitin baby ointment and carefully paint it on the Ford logo. Now we're ready for the Light Ford Gray top coat. The weather is hot and low humidity here now so the topcoat dried really fast. All it takes is a shop towel to wipe off Desitin for the final product. I'm real happy withe result.

Artists masking fluid will work on the "FORD" as well.
