govenor warped

I've run into several leaking governors. If you take it off an put the housing on a flat surface it has a slight bow up in the middle. I know of no way to straighten it other than face grinding it. I've been using Dow 732 to form the gasket needed. This to common problem and must be a reason they warp. Anyone else experience this or know what causes this?

Just wanted to ask are you having problems with new govonors or old ones. I have re built a few old ones with new guts bought from this site never had a problem with the originals.

I do know 2 other guys who bought new ones and had tons of Diffrent problems with them and eventually they ended up rebuilding the old one and had no more problems ... Including leaks like what your describing.

Yea. The governor leaks so it gets tightened. Still leaks so it gets tightened again. And again. And it warps. It's aluminium. Be careful with the grinding. You can take too much off.

I put two gaskets on mine,that stopped the leak.
