f you decide something different than what she wants, then look out! Therefore, advantage: iphone.(quoted from post at 18:21:34 06/21/17) wife wants a iPhone for her birthday next month.
is there an advantage to either system ???
thanks.

(quoted from post at 19:22:09 06/21/17) I have owned iPhone from their inception. Now on iPhone 6. Wouldn't want anything else. All my kids are employed techies and they all have iPhones. They tell me it is the only phone to have.
(quoted from post at 20:03:13 06/21/17) Which windows phone you got? Our family has 3, I've never seen another person with one.
I like mine... Nok 1020
Can't beat the camera..

(quoted from post at 00:23:18 06/22/17) "I hated iTunes anyway."
Can't say that I'm a fan of iTunes either.
But like most Apple products, it has it's cult-like following.
The unsupported hardware is not limited to Apple.
Intel is now producing a processor they call KabyLake.
It will only run Window 10 or newer according to Intel.
HP, Dell, Lenovo, doesn't matter. If it's Intel, it's Windows 10.
Kind of the same deal.
Windows 7 mainstream support ended more than two years ago.
Windows 8.1 mainstream support ends this coming January.
Extended support continues later of course.
As long as you want to run it on old hardware.
P.S. I'm typing this on an 8+ year old laptop running Windows 10.

Hmmm... I am a software engineer. I own an Android phone. I see more Android phones than iPhones among my fellow engineers.
ou can bet a cup of coffee that if the salesman recommends one of the products over another that he is selling, that he makes more profit on the one he recommends.(quoted from post at 11:01:24 06/22/17) my SIL avoids apple products as much as she avoids fat men. my kids all have iPhones. the young people at the local Verizon store prefer android.
I will print all this and give it to my wife. she is on her own.

Touche!(quoted from post at 21:42:13 06/22/17)(quoted from post at 00:23:18 06/22/17)

Absolutely true, but it hurts half as much when the hardware is half the price.
I keep telling my manager that, but it doesn't work.(quoted from post at 09:36:54 06/22/17) That's because software engineers are underpaid
(quoted from post at 06:56:45 06/22/17) thanks fellas.
I should have been clearer in asking the question. I said iPhone as a generic reference to all gizmo phones. the wife cares NOT what gizmo she carries as long as it fits her needs. me? I still use a "flip" phone.
