Hi I'm trying to install a fan shroud on my 1950 8n and the cockpit is hitting the bottom of the fan shroud when you try to turn it. Is there a different type of cockpit that I can use to keep it from hitting the fan shroud. Thanks

hey ditchy.......I understand installing a fan shroud ...but... whattza cockpit??? Ya gotta fighter N-Tractor??? ........the amazed Dell

i assume you're talking about the drain petcock. mine does not hit my shroud. can u post a picture of yours?

Don't be too hard on him, at least he is trying to fit the fan shroud,
Most dudes as soon as they have radiator problems, water pump problems, when they start reassembling the tractor after the repair, they have
fan shroud fit problems,
They just throw that fan shroud away and be done with it,
Have seen many say it made no difference, is if the water pump, fan belt and radiator were clean, tractor ran cool,

Me, I would continue to work to refit the fan shroud, was it on the tractor before you took it apart or something you bought to fit on the tractor?

ust funnin! :) I would notch the shroud or replace the petcock with a small pipe plug and when need to drain, it is easy to slip the lower radiator hose off.

I'm thinking the cockpit thing might be the
result of auto correct on a phone or other
hhd.
Maxwell, I agree.
Ford didn't spend a whole nother $.50 to put
a fan shroud on these tractors for no
reason. They even dispensed with a temp
gauge on the Ns but kept the shroud.

The aftermarket shrouds do need to be trimmed at times as most of them come from "The Land of Almost Right".
