I need new tires for my 8n in Door County. Any suggestions? I would like to stay under $350 for the both of them. Could I put on 10x24? any
help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

good luck on that price range. the last ones I bought was 950 for two mounted on rims. I would think 24 inch ones would be small.

If I was still in the tire business and you brought your tractor to my shop, my old supplier has some 6 ply Farm Boys. I never heard of them before, but they would cost you $168.13 each put on the rim. That price does not include pumping fluid or a new tube.

How long ago was that?

I bought a pair of 11.2 x 28 mounted on my rims with new tubes
installed for $500 a couple years ago. They were not loaded.
This was at a local tire shop and I was not in a hurry.
They had them delivered on their time and installed them.

You could put 24's on it. It would slow the ground speed down.
But you'd have to buy new rims and centers too.
Far more costly than buying tires that fit your rims.
Unless you already have 24 inch rims and centers?

I have the original 28 inch rims. I was priced $560.00 for 2 mounted, 11.2-28s. I have checked around that has been the best price so far.My tires on the tractor have dry rot. but still have decent tread. I am going to hold off and get all the servicing and mechanical up to par first.

Why do you want 24" tires for? Cost? I'd stick with the standard 11.2 x 28 for an 8N. If you don't have a local AG Tire dealer, there are several suppliers around that have them in stock. I don't think you are going to find new tires for what you want to pay. Try COKER TIRE; MILLER TIRE; or TUCKER TIRE. You might find a set of them new mounted on 6-loop rims for around $800, but they won't be Firestone or Goodyear, most likely Cheena made. Most place sell on fleabay and have on-line stores, some deals offer free shipping.

When I had asked about tire prices I was given the idea to find a non-running N with good tires. Swap the good tires over to your N, and put the questionable tires onto the non-running tractor and either keep it for parts or sell. This could be an option for you as well.

Craigslist, Look for good used.

Horace.......yer 9/2/8N came from the factory with 10.0-28's. The gov't in their infinate wizdom said yer measuring yer tire wrong. They're 11.2-28. Same tire, different measureing stick. Most Ag/Bar tractor tires die of dry-rot. They won't hold air enny more. Need NEW innertubes. My eazy starting 6-volt 8N has 14.9-24's, like having duals. Tire pressure is still 12-psi; 6.00-16 fronts 26-psi.......the tired Dell

R Geiger that was yesterdays price. For 24 " tires. Took it right off the tire suppliers price. Just called them and verified it.

Just checked on the 11.2X28 4 plys. Sampson brand $215.45 each put on the rims at the tire shop, + tube, + pumping fluid if you have it. That price is with the tire and rim still on the machine. Off the machine it would be more.
