Can I Put The Carb Needle Valve For a 600 In A 8N Carb

I don't feel like running just for a needle valve for a 8N carburetor, I have one for a Naa, 600 etc, will this work in the 8N carb. It looks the same.

Don't know which needle valve you are talking about, but either way, they seldom go bad. What is wrong with your old one?

My questions would be what is making you think yours is bad?
Is it the needle or the seat? Leaking, sticking, flooding, no fuel?

Directly to the question, will it fit, seal and release without binding?
If so, try it. Keep your old one just in case.

If you have a micrometer just measure it and compare to the old one...

Just re built a M/S carb for a 800 and none of the parts were interchangeable with 8N M/S carb... But I am not sure is the 800 has the same size carb as your 600/NAA.

On the carb for the 800 series it's the same style and manufacturer but everything is just a tiny bit bigger than a 8N carb.

Hope that helps
Good luck

hey KC.....I flunked mindreading, just ask my exwife of 38-yrs. What needle valve are you talking about???......Dell

I don't have a NAA but I do have several extra 8N needle valves. I can pop one in the mail for you if you send me your address.

I think you mean a Main Jet Adjusting Screw, but no 8N and 600 carb parts do not interchange anyway. 119 cu/in N uses M/S TSX-241 carb; 134 cu/in engine (NAA/600) uses M/S TSX-428 carb.

It seems like a lot of posters post before reading all of the previous posts. It makes for some amusing posts.

Gary, How is Leslie doing? Hope she is making headway.

Thanks GB in MT., that is the needle and seat I was talking about! Just a follow-up, the tractor isn't mine. He is using gasoline with ethenal and has not used it since last fall. The float, needle and seat where all gummed up with green gook. I cleaned everything up and was able get it working right with just a new bowel gasket.

Glad you got it working KC!
The green gook was not caused by ethanol.
And was most likely there way before last fall.
It was probably just time for a good cleaning, which you did. :)

Good on ya KCT;
If that green gook, was slimy, I would suspect someone used a sylicone type sealant on the elbow screen treads, to seal up a leak!!!
Saw a lot of that when I used to do carbs.........drives a person nuts, trying to get that out of the screen and fuel lines!!
Hope you checked the elbow screen!!!

BTW........Royse is now our resident Carb man!!! He didn't have anything Else to do!!! AND he does THAT pretty good too!!

Gary [/i:150c80113a][/b:150c80113a]

GB in MT, that elbow screen was the first thing that I checked, believe it or not that was the only thing clean. Ya, I have had Royce go over a couple of carbs that give me static. He does a nice job.

I hope this isn't one of them!
If the needle you have doesn't fit, I'm sure I have one I could mail to you.
Better yet, we could send the whole thing to GB.
He has nothing else to do now! ;)
