I think that it is worth emphasizing how wrong this post is, because so many new owners think that all the moisture gets into their cases from rain. They need to know about protecting against condensation just as diligently as they protect against rain, as j.Geiger said.
 
Right, showcrop, I didn't realize how much water could get inside the hydraulic case from condensation. I stand corrected, and thanks to all you boys for educating me.
 
Also need to make sure the rubber boot on the gear shift lever is
in good condition. So many I see at auctions. Are missing the boot
or have rags wired on in place of the boot.

This is the first thing that everyone says, so new owners are often lead away from monitoring water from condensation. Note that this was about the other thread. Re:

I heard about the boot and I made sure it has a good one and then I realized I was getting water in the trans anyway, then I thought, Well It never sits out in the rain or gets worked in the rain, then I noticed the condensation on the outside of the tractor.
