You asked me how I knew I had a war tractor but I never got your reply about my explanation. Also you said only 9N had the yellow and black decal so I would guess the regular decal would be correct. What did you mean about the air cleaner blue and white? Thanks for your help.

I'm not Tim, but that is correct.

HiYa Pop-
What I said was that the Ford 9N used either the Donaldson or United air cleaner, two different suppliers. I believe in early 1940 Ford went with just the United supplier, but certainly by the 2N model they were the only supplier. Donaldson has two open orifices on a sealed top and use a square oil can bath; United uses a screened removable top and the round can oil bath. Only the Donaldson used the two yellow and black decals. The United used the standard blue and white decal. Donaldson air cleaners were also used on the Allis Chalmers Model B and C tractors. You can find new, Mylar? vinyl adhesive decal sets at most every tractor parts supply houses on-line and off. Since you don't need a whole set of AC decals to only use the two air cleaners ones, there is a fella who makes and sells very good water soluble (just like the originals)ones over at the 'other' Ford N Tractor site -email if you don't know... Ford Tractor guru Kelly Jewel also makes and sells these too.
