The Donaldson Air Cleaner ( early 9N) decals were black and yellow -that's it. But a 2N would have the United Air Cleaner anyway, stnd blue and white. What makes you think you have a wartime model? Do you have steel wheels, magneto, and other true wartime 2N parts? Every 2N was not a wartime model, actually only very few actual ones made.

Thanks, This was a barn find in the 70s I found it next to a barn. Anyway no ? on it being a War tractor. It has a FM J4B73 Mag, it has no starter a steel plate covers where the starter would go that plate has been there 38 yrs. It is crank start only. The choke rod is run out the front right dog leg as to allow it to be choked while cranking. The doglegs have no light holes just jigg marks where the lights would mount. There is no starter ground thumb button, a bolt is where it went and plugs that. Not all 43s are war tractors but this one is, the serial numbers are a low 105 and not all war tractors came with steel wheels. Some had rubber tires as did mine and they all were embossed U.S. Farm Tractor Only. No doubt it is a war tractor. Copper and lead were the real shortages so no wiring, no starter no genny. That said someone told me the decals on the breather are to be yellow and black. I did not know if they were correct or not so that is what I wanted to find out, you are saying that it was on 9Ns only and not 2Ns.
