Just joined the site but have been reading all sorts of info on the N's.
So about a week and a half ago I purchased an 8N (allegedly a 1951) that had the transmission locked up.
Called my local towing company and got it hauled home and started the autopsy.
Yup, 2nd gear main and countershaft had some missing 'dental work'.
Got the new gears from a local source and I'm now awaiting the arrival of the new bearings so I can start reversing the dismantle process.
Hopefully next weekend I'll have something going back together.
