8n center support

Has anyone had the center support plate come off. I'm going to post a pic if I can figure out how. But it looks like the plate was welded originally. The guy before me had a bolt and nut in it , so I guess it broke before somehow.

My main question is, what can I do with it. Will it be ok just putting a bolt and nut, Or should I get it welded? Thanks

My "Plate" broke off and was missing. So, had to fab the missing plate and plug weld it on.

Good luck!

I would weld it back in place. The pix in the other post is the axle pin his retainer broke off the pin. It was part of the pin not part of the support like in your pix...

It's structural. Have it re-welded to the housing. I would suggest at a minimum tack welding it in place with the pin installed before the final welding is performed. The pin will serve as an alignment aid and avoid heartburn later ;-)

"Have you made up a stock of those to sale.."

Sorry Hobo, that's been a while and I have moved on to other projects.

The one I fixed is still up on all fours! Cross my fingers.
