Where will it work to make a gasket from a cereal box and where will it not? I know it won't work for a head gasket.

Where it will work: In a pinch
Where it won't: Anytime the correct gasket or material is available
Seriously though, way too many variables to answer that. I would always use the correct gasket or material in any hard to get at area, in other words anyplace that I wouldn't want to take apart again just to re-gasket. All reputable gasket makers use specific compounds / treatments to assure the best possible gasket. Some things they consider are pressure, vacuum, compressibility, compression limits, re-use, chemical resistance, temperature etc etc etc.
There are many different gasket composition out there.

I am new here and I do not post much and I belong to a lot of other forums.
I do not mind the joking or the sarcasm but if there is dis-respect I will get back in your face. Just another Old Man who knows the difference. I have not noticed anything that I can not live with so far. Life is good.
