my tractor was running great then it starting to run rough wouldn't run full throttle then it blew out the exhaust gasket, the old intake was in rough shape, so i bought a new intake its not leaking. I fired up the tractor after i fixed the intake and it ran but never would rev up . I even disconnected the Governor to see it that was the problem no change still ran like the timing was retarded are some thing. now it wont start at all even with starting fluid . i tested my wires i have fire, compression .and it seems to be getting gas its dripping out of the zenith carb this it didn't do before. I'm at a lose here.am i forgetting something? Thanks much John.

j9n,Remove the air intake pipe from the carb and try starting it.The air cleaner bowl could be full of water, mud and gunk.

Could be choking from exhaust not getting out . A mouse nest in the muffler ? That could have blown out your last gasket and then kept it from reving up . You can unbolt the exhaust clamp and check for exhaust flow as it exits the manifold . If that is not the case you are not out anything but a little time .

The plugs may be fouled now .

If you are spraying starting fluid I would assume you took off the air cleaner tube ? If not you may have a blockage from a dirty filter / mess that is keeping air from getting in . You can remove the s shaped tube when you unbolt the exhaust . It does sound like it is an air flow issue .

it was running before i put the new manifold on . the mufflers fine . took the boot off at the carb shot the ether to it. nothing . ill try taking the exhaust pipe aloose from the manifold. maybe its there blocking exhaust flow.let ya know.
