he neutral safety start button is not a solenoid & not a switch, but a mechanical link to a start switch which is located at front of steering assy , below battery. Two battery cable size terminals on switch, one from battery and other to starter motor.(quoted from post at 16:21:05 04/25/17) Ok,I looked at the jmor diagram is my starter floor button not a solenoid?Do I need to use a solenoid also.Ive looked at several diagrams for the
46 2N so I'm confused witch one I need to use.I bought the tractor with no wiring so I'm starting from scratch with 12 V conversion.
Tom
hat can I say? Don't know how it was wired or how you changed it??(quoted from post at 18:22:45 04/25/17) Changed a couple of wires it now turns over.I have discovered I have no continuity at foot switch on motor side but I can jump it.
Tom
it will turn over with the key on or off."...just like it was designed to do!(quoted from post at 18:39:34 04/27/17) I replaced the mechanical start switch, problem is it will turn over with the key on or off. What have I done?I picked a diagram and still an issue.

(quoted from post at 10:57:15 04/28/17) Put some gas to it fired right up and charging fine.
Thanks everyone
Tom
would have said the same, Bruce, but he never did tell us what wires he changed to fix the high current smoke problem, so..............? Less than happy to spend all the time with someone that does not even have the courtesy to give feedback/closure.(quoted from post at 17:34:26 04/28/17)(quoted from post at 10:57:15 04/28/17) Put some gas to it fired right up and charging fine.

Tom
You're welcome. Glad to help
don't have a problem, rather trying to figure out where you went wrong & now you just confirmed my suspicion..............you used a Voltmeter diagram to connect an ammeter & that does, as you found, make smoke. Have a nice weekend & I do appreciate the feedback.(quoted from post at 07:59:22 04/29/17) JMOR,not sure what your problem is.Here is the diagram I used, hope your happy.
