My old cylinder # 9n-510A and the new one # is cyl 6005 and it is bigger than the old one and is hitting somewhere under top cover so what is the difference in these two cylinder and will it need to be moderified in order to work in my 8n tractor.

Hdltch,Yep,some of the Chiner replacement hydraulic cyiliders are thicker in some areas and need to be ground off some for clearance.Like JMOR, said Put paint on it, try to install to see where contacting,or use some model clay to see where it is contacting.

I understand the 9N-510A number. The other number is meaningless to me - where did it come from? A picture of the new one or even better both side by side would help greatly.
