What made you think there was new software? I don't see anything different.

thanks, i've been wondering about this myself. nothing is striking me as different either.

Good question!

There was a sparse look to everything last night and the tractor parts listings above were in blurry & bold deep purple and that whole banner was 2' deep and laid out differently.

On opening the N Home page, I had to scroll down to see the list of topics.

That's why I put this thread title in the form of a question; i.e., "do I detect?"

Everything is back to normal now. (?)
Beats me.

Sorry about that,
Terry

my best guess is that what u saw was an error in the page loading for u, which is normally a case of the transmission of the page to u being interrupted/garbled.

the easy way to test is to use whatever method your browser requires to reload the page AND force your browser to get everything from scratch, instead of relying on anything which might already be in its cache. for my browser, a chrome clone, that means i hold down the control and shift key and then click the reload button, or, with keyboard only and no mouse, control-shift-R. the odds against an error like that being replicated identically two times in a row are pretty darn steep, so if it looks ok when u force a full reload, it likely IS ok :)

HFG,

For sure!
Should have hit me reload tool button, or quit and restarted my "old" version of Safari.
Trashing preference files and reloading the program or browser has also worked many times over the years.

Should have tried my other browser as well.
I get "older browser" warnings every now and then, so I have another browser "TenForFox" in that event of "bad font detection" alerts or whatever.

I'm one of those guys who never upgrades until I absolutely have to and I have my reasons. :D

i won't go quite that far - there are some programs, notably flash, i make a point of updating promptly. but otherwise, as a coder by trade, first i want to see the change log for your new release. did u fix some critical security issues, or did u just add some bells and whistles i don't need?

bottom line, i rarely believe that most programs' desire for me to install something new trumps my own take on it.

P.S.

First on my list should have been to close the page, [b:2df904b3dc]empty my browser cache[/b:2df904b3dc] and reload the page, but I jumped to the dopey new software conclusion.
