Aftermarket drag link/tie rod ends 8n Ford

I recently purchased the aftermarket drag link assembly part#8n3314.
My problem is, after I identified the larger end from the smaller end, and when tightening the castle nut the tie rod will not seat and I stripped the threads. l also noticed that the whole shaft is a lot longer than the one im replaceing.I've done this on cars with no problem.

Any advise would be appreciated

I was going to buy one Of these, but I have 3 8n's and all have different lengths with different length tie rod ends, so it looks like I will have to keep my tubes, buy the ne tie rod ends, cut my old ends stock and weld to the new ends in order to keep the original lengths, my tie rod ends are stamped ford, but you can not seem to be able to buy the extra long ends any more, and the a/m assemblies don't measure out the same.
 
I'm going to call and ask to speak to a teck at YT and see what they can do.
I see in YT's online catalog
they actually sell the shorter tie rod ends.
I'm going to keep the new tubes because one of the old is bent.
Maybe we can work something out.

Contacted YT teck and was told to contact a New Holland dealer to get part#. Found one in Bakersfield,couldn't come up with anything over the phone, so it looks like a road trip of 160 miles round trip.????
