Finally got around to measuring the OD of my old liners they run 3.372 to 3.374. They had been bored over time so I am guessing they were .090 liners. Is this the approximate OD for .090 liners? I had to try to find a good section as they got distorted when I drove them out. I ll check the block tomorrow its been a long day for me.

Skip,That don't sound good! The .090 sleeve measures 3.368 plus you need .001 press fit in the block. That means the block bore should be close to 3.367.So you need to remeasure the block and hope that you were off in measuring the sleeves. It could have had over sized repair sleeves in it.

Skip, If your measurement are correct then these are possibly the sleeves that were in it,after some machinist goofed up.More expense now for you and that is a shame. Mission Creep strikes again.
.005 Oversized sleeve

3.1875 + .090 + .090 = 3.3675. Your sleeves appear to be .005 oversize.

You mentioned you had difficulty getting them out of the block. I'd suggest measuring that block very carefully (e.g. bore gauge) and looking for any signs of adhesives.....

It just keeps getting worse, I went back out to measure the block with a good light and it looks like someone used the screwdriver technique to remove the old liners yeas ago and 3 cylinders have cracks so bad you can see light through them. It actually looks like someone put some sort of sealer between the block and liners years ago. What do you guys suggest?

I would guess the difficulty you had getting them out and teh oddball size is because:

a) At some point in the past the sleeves were loose in the block
b) Someone installed .005 over sleeves using a sleeve retaining compound

If they are thick wall sleeves a screwdriver isn't an effective way to get them out. The cracks may simply be the result of 60+ years of corrosion.

Unless the cracks in the water jacket are gross I would suggest cleaning the block bore and installing an appropriately sized set of sleeves using Loctite 640 or similar retaining compound. I wouldn't expect any problems and that is probably what they PO did. Aren't old tractors fun ;-)
