last fall I planted half wheat and half rye over the garden. both have come up great but one is much higher and greener than the other. can somebody this old fool and tell him which is which?

thanks.

Hey Tim,
I know a guy can plant rye in the fall and it will come up again next year.
Have you ever let it winter over and let it grow up and ripen?
I wondered if you knocked it down with the brush mower then set the disk at a shallow angle and disced it in if you could get another planting out of it that way.

A fellow I used to work with planted rye and winter wheat in his food plots and would just leave it standing and then disk it in that fall, no mowing it down. He'd have to replant every other year for good coverage....Craig
