2N lift Capacity

WI2N

New User
hello all, I am struggling with my 2N 3 point lift capacity. By the book my implement should be more than lift-able at only around 200-250 lbs with most of the weight almost touching the rear tires. I have replaced all of the internals in the pump and cylinder but still struggle to lift this thing. What else can i try? Am I using the wrong fluid? is there something else I can adjust? I am lost. Thanks for the help.

" Am I using the wrong fluid?"

I don't know.

What fluid are you using?

" What else can i try? "

Your pump has a test port. Get a gauge & check the pressure.

WI2N........yer 2N holds 5-gals of 80wt gear oil. This is NOT hydraulic fluid. (too thin) Drain is plug in diffy.... HTH, the amazing Dell

P.S.......yer 2N should be able to lift 1200lbs before the front wheels are off the ground

Thanks for the help. Any recommendations on oil? or will any 80wt work? I had been using Universal trans/hydro oil. Might be my issue

As bruce said.. test your pressure.. you want 1500-1700 psi. Your test port will need an ORB fitting, not pipe!

chain upper lift arms to axles, put in gauge, exercise lift.

I'd have the inspection port open looking for leaks.

don't take much of a leak on a <3g/m system to take it's legs out.

Dell, just curious, does this apply to the 8N too? I have hydraulic fluid in my 8N and it lifts just fine.

Sure, it will lift......but what is it doing to your transmission and differential?

See tips 3 & 4.

And tip # 39; sounds like you might need the manuals.

Depends on what you are calling hydraulic fluid.

It's called "Mile Master 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid" purchased from a Farm & Fleet store. Says "general purpose multi-grade tractor lubricant for farm construction and logging equipment. It is specifically formulated to protect against wear, rust, corrosion and foaming. It may be used as a replacement fluid in select models where 303 fluid (mid-1970 model years and prior) is acceptable.

So, what am I doing to my transmission?

Thanks, Bruce, I'll consider that a "win" for today, and breath a little easier now,

My apologies to W12N, I kind of hi-jacked his thread.
