8n hydraulics

I think I finally got the hydraulic problem figured out thanks to all the help from various folks on this site. After replacing the o ring and washer on piston and the relief valve and cleaning pump, but not doing anything to the pump itself, the lift still did not work right. Had the side cover off several times and could see no visible leaks, but the lift still leaked down with a load on it. Then remembered reading somewhere on this site about the 4 bolts on the lift quadrant. Loosened those 4 bolts and slid the quadrant back all I could, which wasn't much, and low and behold the lift piled that heavy mower right up. Guess maybe the control arm wasn't pushing the intake valve in far enough. It still leaks down, but I think it's just too heavy for the system, probably a lighter implement will be ok. Thanks again for all the help from everyone.

Glad you got it working Randy.
If it doesn't leak down in 5 minutes or so, and you
don't have to road it very far, I wouldn't worry about it.
There are stops made to hold it up if it has to be roaded.
That way you can shut off the PTO when hauling a mower.
I also think it's best to lower the hydraulics when you shut
it off anyway. Why leave all that pressure on the system?
