An oil management system for engines that have to be run continuously for extended periods. It does a slow controlled burn of engine oil and adds fresh make-up oil from an oil tank:

I had a fellow tell me that Cat,Cummins, Detroit or somewhere had a diesel
that they ran 24-7 and I asked about the oil change and this was in the 70s.
They must have had something like this anyway he didnt know what they did. On a
car or truck it would be overkill as you say. This will be my, I learn
something new every day.
