T this is that scoup i dug up, the other side has a piece of 3/4 all thread with nuts on, going thru the holes where the lower lift arm pins would go, it will hold 2 rolls of fence wire, [ 1320 ft each], after running 2 lines i can tighten 2 nuts and lock the wire rolls then pull the wires tight, t posts, and fence stays can go on this side of the wire rolls, tools ect lay on the floor of the scoup, i tighten my upper link so the scoup floor tilts toward the tractor so i dont have stuff slide out

Genius simplicity!

Is there a sleeve in the wire roll or nuthin' but wire . . . so it rolls off nice on the rod ?

Thanks,
Equipment pics, always entertaining. :)

I have a Standard scoop like that. That thing has moved many tons of dirt behind a 52 8N. My uncle built 2 ponds with it about 1952 or 53.

its just on the rod, kind of bumps and jumps when unrolling, but its always worked

i found a couple small steel plates with holes in them, and when i habe both rolles of wire on the rod i run them pretty loose, after i get out of fence posts i tighten those which locks the rolls and pull the wires tight with the tractor, just tight dont give it power, a broken fence wire on a open platform tractor is going to be real bad! nudge into the fence line, [ assuming new fence] and it will lay nice against the post, 3pt height will set the wire height, all but the bottom one, but working 1 wire by hand beats the heck out of working 4 or 5 by hand
