'49 8N rear axle seals, revisited

First I would like to thank everyone on this forum, and John Smith, for trying to help me understand how to correctly reassemble the rear axles on my early 8N. However, I have come to the firm conclusion that I am so dam*ed dumb that I am never going to understand the proper sequence for installing the gaskets, shims and seals without having an exploded diagram of the axle. The diagram in the IT manual is not exploded, and is kind of hard to figure out. Would anybody know of an exploded diagram? Thanks very much.

Not meaning to hi-jack this thread but I have a question along the same line.
It's been many years since I worked on a 8N and I'm helping a neighbor get his 52 model back running. Tune up, coil and carb rebuild has the engine running good, but it has a axle seal getting oil on the brakes.
My question is can I pull the assembly and just replace the inner seal or will I have to remove the bearing from the axle and replace everything.

Bill;
You said....:" The diagram in the IT manual is not exploded"!!!!

Would it surprise you to find out.....that the IT, FO4 manual Has that same picture....EXPLOADED, on pg. 138, back of the manual.

Now, if you don't have the 150 pg. FO4 manual, then you do not have the updated FO4 manual, that has 35 exploaded pictures of things, and how they go back together!!!!

or just inner seal, no need to remove bearing from axle

But they say you are supposed to check the axle pre-load when you change the seals. You adjust the pre-load by adding or removing shims, which is a minor pain because you need to unbolt and disassemble everything to add or remove shims.

orrect. Just save sealer until last assemble.
