Goiub tonmorrow evening to pick up my new Nissan Fribtier crew cab,,,shopped on line, on the phone and in person till I had to make a decision to avaid anervous breakdown.. Narrowed down to Tacoma or Frontier..Yea Toyota cost more, is more bulky-actually about the same size of the Sierra I just sold--Frontier is little smaller than Tacoma but not muchm 6cyl in Frontier had better response than v6 jn Tacona--Tacoma some heavier,,Tacoma higher off ground-old man wants ease of entry and exit...Frontier was my choice for my personal needs--anyway, its the last new vehicle I will ever buy,(its only the third brand newvehicle for me)so it is ehat it is and I will learn to like it--all new ones are ridiculously priced--one dude had the audacity to tell me a Tacoma had only $1400 markup..I cannot be made to believe that no matter what kund of bogus invoices they pull out of the bottom drawer,,,,

information only. not trying to start a fight. btw: our new 2017 truck is a ford f-150. our car is a 2011 Subaru forester.(our second one)

For the record, Frontiers were built in Smyrna, Tennessee until recently when the line was moved to Nissan's new plant in Canton, Missippi.

$1,400 mark-up? What an idiot! He is supposed to tell you that they are losing money but that they make it up in volume.

I came up with a different solution, i have never done well buying new or new used vehicles, every time i drove a new or new used vehicle off the lot the value took a beating, doing some research i looked for the most inexpensive truck i could find that would still be very versatile for me, result?
the ford trucks between 1967-1972 also called the bumps, these can still be purchased under $3000.00, unlike their chevy counterpart which bring a bit more money, yes i put money into them but it seems every dollar i put into them it maintains or increases the value, keep in mind i do my own sheet metal welding, painting and maintenance, parts for these vehicles are plentiful, you would be surprised how many of Bruce's 75 tips apply, another note these are 8 months of the year drivers, will retain a 4wd pick up very low mileage lease for winter driving and pulling travel trailer, now i'm not keeping all three fords, i will sell one when it's done to offset some of my cost

1971 F250 camper special
1968 F100 ranger
1968 f100 basic(still working on this one)
960 ford narrow front
871 ford select o speed
2- 8n(both with arp tracks)
john deere 40 w/ no. 9 cycle bar mower

Yea, Canton is about 50 miles North of me on I-55..Glad I can support local
jobs..brought it home with me this evening..Paid too much but I've never
seen a Wells Fargo truck behind a hearse...

"I came up with a different solution"

That works in many cases Dave, but Tom wanted a small truck! LOL
I sold my '78 F250 Camper Special a couple years ago.
Still have the '79 F350. Can't seem to kill that old 300 6cyl 5 spd.
Of course these are both "innies".
