Lift doesn't go all the way down in position control

1950 8n. The lift will not drop all the way down in position control. T It seems to work ok in draft control but is slow to lift. There is several more inches of down travel in draft vs position. It was working fine until I had to swap hydraulic pumps. The test port threads stripped on the old one causing a leak.

I cleaned the "new" pump and installed it. Initially the lift would not operate on the new pump until I exercised the valve by hand. I assume there was a bit of debris that got missed the cleaning process. Then this whole not dropping business started.

About a year or year and a half ago, I pulled the top cover and replaced the cam pin and adjusted the linkage with the jig I bought from Zane. It worked great on the old pump.

I have also tried adjusting the quadrant forward with the tractor running. It seems to work until I tighten the bottom two bolts down. It seems like the quadrant is angled up and things work. When I tighten the bolts, it takes this angle out and it starts acting up again.

I assume I'm in the realm of pulling the lift cover. I'm thinking that maybe the control rod going down to the pump got bent when the new pump wasn't moving correctly on the initial startup.
So, straighten rod and realign with the jig.

Anything I am missing here?

I&T manual says that <3 inches additional drop is normal. "If the drop exceeds 3 inches, the position control spring is too long & needs to be adjusted."

It's more than 3" for sure. The thing is, the position control spring adjustment is independent of the pump, as you know. That shouldn't change just because the pump did. Has to be a bent control rod right?

I guess I'm pulling the lift cover tomorrow.

what is it, several more inches or more than 3 inches?
was it better before you changed the pump or are you just now noticing it?

More than 3" for sure. It worked fine before the pump swap. I can tell a difference because my grader blade will not engage the ground. Sits about 2" off the ground now, where it didn't do that before.
