8N thermostat

Forum,
Restoring an 8N and need a thermostat. Auto shop ordered one that does not seem to fit. It does not look like the one from Yesterday's Tractor parts. It has a lip that does not appear to want to fit inside the hose. Any suggestions?

Mr. T Maybe heat the hose in a pot of boiling water then a little vegetable oil on the stat and inside of the hose will let it slip inside.

Can you post a picture? Most auto store counter parts people have never seen a N thermostat.

Here is a pic of the OEM t-stat. And the AZ 180* t-stat I use in all of my N's.

I ordered the one from YT in the link above and I have the same issue. That being it has a lip near the top that makes it hard to fit into the hose plus it's pretty sharp.

Was wondering about filing it down some before trying to install it. I'm a little worried over time it will cut into the inside of the hose.
