Wouldn't it be wise to open the sediment bowl petcock all of the way and run the tractor every now and then to keep the crud from plugging it up?

I do it occasionally, I don't think that it will keep it from clogging, but I don't want water to build up there. There is a theory that condensation can
form inside the tank if you don't keep it filled, and that over time this would collect in the bottom of the tank. I've never had water in my tank, so I
can't say the theory is valid, but it doesn't hurt to open it up. If it does clog, then the tank is closer to empty so that I can pull the shutoff valve
and clean it.

i hope u have better luck than i have had. my N came with a plugged reserve, and when i replaced the sediment bowl assembly, the new reserve was already restricted on the first attempt to start the tractor to the point of not allowing it to run longer than about 5 seconds. it wasn't zero flow, but it was not enough to be useful.

DC........yer glass filter bowl is one of 3-filter schemes to keep from cloggin-up yer carbie. Recommend NO-MORE than 2-turns to run yer tractor. Otherwize you will be suckin' crud and stuff from the bottom of the 10-gal tank. Iff'n you like cleaning and rebuilding carbies, go ahead suck the crud. Me? I just keep the gastank filled. Simple, eh?.......the amazed Dell
