Here's a good one for you. I changed my 8N's PTO shaft to a 1 3/8" shaft just so I could use a quick disconnect ORC.
Well, I went out to mow this morning and hooked up the mowers shaft and went to work. I wondered why when I throttled down and stepped on the clutch to shift to reverse, I was getting a grinding from the trans. Well, I didn't force anything. After that if I needed to shift gears, I waited until the mower shaft stopped turning.
I got my mowing done and went inside to have a drink and cool off. Then I went outside to check up on that ORC and see why it didn't work like my old "pin on" ORC did. To my surprise, when I pulled the mower shaft off, THERE WAS NO ORC THERE !!!!!.
Guys, remember one thing, when you have a push button ORC, you have to put it on the tractor for it to work. Pretty embarrassing, I know, but I just went out there and hooked up that mower shaft like I always did and forgot about the new ORC.
