I've got a weak spot for mutts

This one was just too cute to pass up.
Pretty sure the original tractor is an 851.
Once I get it inside out of the snow I'll verify that.
Needs some TLC but it runs and drives smooth and quite.
Engine fired right up, had 60psi oil pressure just off idle
and it doesn't smoke. I have to go pick it up on Saturday.

Great machine.
851 so no live pto but as Michford says, it
does have power steering.
I would take PS over lpto any day of the
week. So if you paint it are you gonna go
with the red/gray colors of a 801 or the
blue/gray colors of the 4000?
My vote is for the latter.

That's one of the little details Jerry. It has the dual pin
clutch clevis and the clutch pedal sets pretty darned high,
but I wasn't able to tell for sure if it had lpto or not.
Couldn't really feel the engagement like I can on my 960.
Transmission is stamped 851, but I don't know what's inside it.

Seller seemed to be a nice enough younger guy but he prefers
Case and Farmall tractors and had recently bought this as a
non-runner so those little details weren't readily available.

Paint? Maybe someday when I see what it is.
Might have to find the appropriate x01 tin first.
That grill will probably fit my Jubilee with the loader on it tho.

Thanks Michford. Did you go look at it?
I'm kind of surprised it was listed for almost 3 weeks.

Interesting. Wander If it has NAA, 600 or 601 gas tank. Judging by the distance between the dash and the steering wheel? Looks like the PS lid is almost against the hood. Whatever, a nice tractor outfit to play with

Good catch, Royse. That looks like the craigslist from Sumner one. Man, if only there was more room in our barn. . .

Good eye Wayne. The tank is Jubilee or possibly aftermarket.
It has a sediment bowl mounted under it on the right side.

I just bought this one today.
Not so much of a mutt. More like a dog.
1983 Ford 545A Industrial.
Has a stupendous big loader on it.
Spec sheet says it would pick up an N - with a loader on it.
I won't get it home for a couple of weeks.
Not sure what will happen to it.
Have the transmission and rear end sold if I decide to part it.

"Have the transmission and rear end sold if I decide to part it."

I take it the tractor is a non-runner at the moment?
Shame, it doesn't look to be in too bad of shape.
Definitely looks like a heavy duty loader!

It supposedly runs Royse.
But he says the engine is tired.
I will try to start it when I pick it up.
I really just wanted the front end,
steering, tin, etc for a tractor I'm
building. Was thinking if I parted it I
could get my parts for free.
We'll see when I get it home.
