Couple days ago I posted input from you experts on what to offer a man for an 8N that he said was running at time he remembers.
Well Well Well, went today and looked at it. Appears it is a 9N with 6 lugs at rear wheels. No Carb, he had it in his pick-up
truck. Both rear tire flat EXTREME dry rot. All wheel seals leaking a total rust bucket but skin and fenders were spotless as far
as dent's go. He said he paid $1000 I told him I believe he may have overpaid. I told him I didn't want to make an offer and insult
him but it was more of a project than my job and time not to mention my wallet had time for. Gentleman he ran a half Azz salvage
yars etc so I was very skeptical. Think he seen my frustration. It will be a yard ornament for many years for him.....Thanks for
the mostly quoted asking price of $500 which a bit high. Just had to go and look........Lesson learned...Thanks aging, were all
here to help each other....Thanks.......RICKY

Too bad we're so far apart.
I'm going to sell a decent running 8N for about $1500 in late spring.
It ain't pretty either, but the tires all hold air.

Thought about buying an 8n. Prices seemed to range from 2500/3500 for a decent running tractors. Auctions would go higher. That was around 8 years ago. Ended up buying a cub for a lot less. Don't know when he bought it but suspect awhile back. It seems as though people are reluctant to tell you the whole story anymore. That's why you have to ask a lot of questions when considering buying. Went to look at a jd 25 skidloader. The guy said it ran fine. everything worked on it. good tires. So I drove 1 1/2 hours to look at it. When he started it up I noticed it was loud. Exhaust manifold was broken in 2/3 places. It wouldn't move at all. He said it just started that and it was probably the oil filter. I did notice when I first looked at it it looked as though it hadn't been moved in awhile. Time wasted. Times has changed haven't they.

outstanding. that's what i love about this place, always something new to learn.

from now on, whenever anyone says their vehicle will start but won't move, i'll have a new prime suspect :D

Most are and in today's world If a person-individual or business says they
are going to do something, call u back, send u a quote etc,,dont hold ur
breath because most have just lied to u--I spend half of every day at work
calling folks back because they have lied to me..soooo sad..

Where are you located? I'm about to thin my herd, so to speak. Seven tractors is just too many. I have 8N or 9N in good running order if you are interested. I am located in W. TN.
Email is open.

Your instincts are usually right and your alarm bells were telling you that the deal was a bad one.

I have a 2N with a loader and 7' back blade on it that one of the guys at the shop has offered me $1800.00 for. IF I ever see that cash I think it will be a miracle but the point is that's what I see them going for in West Michigan (Grand Haven/Muskegon area). I bought it about 16 years ago for $2700.00 and at that time it also had a front blade and a set of tire chains. Probably paid too much back then but I have gotten my money's worth over the years.

Craigslist is my favorite place to shop and there's always another one coming up soon.

It's been two years since I watched an 8n sell here. The last one was a 51 with a cobbled up 12volt Motor Craft system. The tractor smoked bad and ran on three cylinders. It sold for $1800.

Most sell for between $1200-$2500 out here. I haven't paid out more than $1300 for any of mine.
