I have a 1942 ford 2n front distributor Sherman step down trans with a superior brand loader. My clutch pedal pivot area is badly worn.Is there a fix other than pulling the shaft out and replace? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Richiewis,There is no (decent) way to repair your floppy clutch petal, other than remove it and replace worn bushing #9N7508,build up or replace the worn brake shaft #9N2247 and bushings 9N2248.If it bothers you that much fix it the right way.
Maybe a cobbled farmer fix with a thin shim of some kind of sheet metal/aluminum around the worn shaft area and between the worn bushing.

THIS IS WHAT I DO-- THE CLUTCH SHAFT PIVOTS ON THE BRAKE SHAFT--REPLACE THE BUSHING ON THE CLUTCH SHAFT THEN REPLACE THE LEFT BRAKE SHAFT
WITH THE RIGHT SHAFT THEY BOTH ARE THE SAME IT'S A LITTLE WORK BUT THEN YOU ARE GOOD TO GO

on my 2n the brake pedal shaft (right side) is very hard to move. The shaft is almost siezed in the bushing at the brake drum end. I have the wheel off and heated the bushing, add some penetrating oils but still very heavy....I need to remove the collar (aka bushing 9n2248)...is the pin used to hold that collar on riveted? Looking for best approach to take collar off? Can I drive that pin out (hard to see where the little end is? OR do I need the liquid wrench?
