8N asking price

Need some input. I live in Western NC and have yet to go look at a 8N a man has for sale who stated he had a tractor for sale
which had a 12 conversion done which he didn't know when. He said tire was flat and it was running when it was parked. I'm sorry
for the vague description but it was a brief encounter at the store which that day and I was in a hurry.I understand the asking
price has come down over the past few years and I have no clue what to offer him price wise. Any feedback would help. Thanks, Ricky

An average tire sitting on a flat for a year will crack the side wall and become unusable . You can quickly invest $1k on tires and have an $800 tractor if the motor has a serious problem , resulting in a Hugh loss . Usually people do not "park" a tractor for a simple problem .

Do you want an 8n.. or do you want a tractor?

If you want an 8n.. offer 500$ unless he prooves it runs and tires pump up.

If you want a tractor and LIKE an 8n.. get a 640 or 641

You would be a lot better off with a 600 or 800 series unit. A much better and more versital tractor

I have only had one tractor and it's been an 8N. Depending on what you plan on doing, you may want to look for a newer tractor with more features/power but don't let their 65+ age fool you. They are still a very good little tractor for the money. But if it does not run and has bad tires, I would not pay any more than what the others have said.

I will eventually be looking for a newer compact utility tractor with a things like 4x4, power steering, a loader... but until then, my N is doing just fine.
