Over running clutch

I have a 1954 NAA with a few Implements. My problem is my over running clutch does not fit on my PTO shaft very tight. I still have the original PTO shaft on the tractor and don't want to change it because i have a cord wood saw and need it for the pulley. When i use it with my wood chipper it seems to be taking some of the metal off either the tractor or the over running clutch because it fit lose on the pto shaft. I haven't used on the brush hog in a while so not sure if it will do the same thing . My question is should the over running clutch fit on tight or is there a little play. It's not that old Thanks

They fit snug, but not exactly tight. Any play in the shaft?
Compare the fit to the shaft on your cord wood saw.
Are both loose? If so, maybe the shaft is worn.
The shafts are pretty hard, so more likely, in my mind,
to be the ORC or a bearing but worth checking.
I changed my NAA to 1 3/8 and still have the original
shaft assembly. If it will do you any good let me know.

Every thing on the tractor seem good . When I put the ORC on it feels lose. I bought at my local John Deere dealer . Any suggestion on brand
to use? Thanks

it's possible you bought the orc for the large style shaft and the pin is the on;y thing really coupling it.

ensure that the female is 1 1/8

(quoted from post at 18:24:59 02/27/17) The pulley goes on tight so maybe the sold me one with wrong female end might be 1 3/8 not 1 1/8

I imagine that putting a 1 3/8" female ORC on a 1 1/8" pto shaft would really start to tare up both of them.

I would also think that that putting the larger orc on that shaft, one would feel the slop so bad that he would know right away there was a problem.

OK, I just went outside and tried a 1 3/8" orc on the old 1 1/8" shaft that I had removed. It didn't even catch the splines at all. As I figured, no one could possibly make that mistake.

Ok I just took the cord wood saw off and the OCO
Ffit on fine and is the right size the wobble is from
the inside the OCO I guess this is just normal
