Neat old truck. A couple years ago I bought the first Ford pickup I had ever owned, and I asked people who knew me to "not hold that against me". Owned a lot of GM pickups, but my first Ford. Not
particularly picky about brands, but I still refuse to look at the Dodges. I figure there is a reason why they put that on the hood, so I heed the warning, and stay away. :)

That is a nice looking truck. Is the sheet metal as straight and clean as it looks? What are your plans for it? Keep it as it is?

It looks like you found a good, solid old project truck. Every time I see one of the '49 through First Series '55 Chevy shortbeds I kick myself for not buying one or two or more before the round-fender look became cool and prices went up. I have a '55 Second Series big-window custom cab that I love, but a round-fender companion would be great.

the title is supposed to be " new Project' not preheat. Its a 51. It was outside of Columbia Falls , Mt. About 650 miles for me one way. I left at 3:30 Friday morning and had lunch in Missoula at 10:30 am. Drove up and loaded it and back to Missoula for the overnite. At one time I would have come the rest of the way home. I have to get the 1950 8N out of the shop before I can start on this though.

The 47 - 54 Chevy pickups are about as hard to fix as a hammer. I've had this '51 for about 15 years. It'll need a new master brake cylinder this spring.
