Identifying a Sherman in an N

I am purchasing a "52 8N that I was told has a Sherman combination transmission. I know nothing (yet) about tractors so I"m asking if this welded handle is a sign that there is a Sherman in there.

Are there any on line/PDF operators manual for this? I have the FO-4 Shop Manual and the PA-8282-C Parts List. What else will be handy to have?

Check out John Smith's awesome website on old Ford tractors.
Here's a direct link to his [b:4a868edbf5]Aux trans[/b:4a868edbf5] section.
He was helping me out with one again today.

Here are a couple of style handles for the sherman trans. If it not one of these handles it's probably not a sherman. If you send or post a photo it will help. Sitting on the tractor is the handle on the ride side or left side of the tractor?
